About My Approach

Get the coaching and guidance you have been missing. Not only meet your health goals, but establish habits that allow you to enjoy life-long wellness

Your Own Unique Path to Health

I will guide and teach you all that you desire in order to help you reach your ultimate health goals. Whether it is losing body fat, increasing energy levels, building muscle mass, or managing a metabolic disease like prediabetes or diabetes, I am here to support you through it.

Now, more than ever, a vast array of information is accessible at our fingertips. Google information about diet, weight loss, exercise and health, and you will find millions of results. It is no wonder people feel paralyzed and overwhelmed. My primary objective is to reduce the confusion and provide, what I believe to be, the best and most accurate information. While I do not claim to have all the answers, I believe, together, we can construct the best plan for attaining your health goals.

I understand what it is like to feel hopeless and frustrated by the amount of nutrition and health information circulating the internet. Hopping from one “solution” to another, believing this time will be different. This time it will work or this time I will stick with it.

You have been told that foods like meat and eggs are the worse for your health one day and then nothing to be concerned about the next. Which is it?

Throughout the years, I have spent time researching, gaining experience and learning from experts in the fields of nutrition, functional medicine and exercise all so I can share with this information with you. We will look at your health from a holistic view (your body as one unit, all connected). Maybe we start with your nutrition or movement patterns? Or, you believe your stress levels are contributing to poor health and could even be negatively impacting your sleep.

Figuring out where to start can be overwhelming.

This is where I come in. Now, I won’t tell you what to do, but will instead coach you towards identifying the best starting place. There is no one that knows you better than you know yourself. If telling people what to do was actually effective we would not see the level of chronic disease that we have today. Knowledge and information is not always enough for behavior change.

As I stated in the beginning, I am happy to teach, but only when asked. I believe the best plan is the one you create for yourself. I will coach you through creating many short-term goals and experiments that will bring you closer to your long-term health goals.

Experiments

Having an experimental mindset is key in my coaching approach. We will not see shortcomings as failures, but instead see them as purely learning experiences. If you do not see the scale move from one week to the other, we will tweak our experiment.

What is important is finding what will work for you, and this often requires adjustments. There will no doubt be moments we get it right the first time, but that may not always be the case. What you can continue and sustain long-term is what we are after.

Slow & Steady

You have surely seen someone lose a large amount of weight very quickly. This is what weight loss shows are based on. Unfortunately, a high percentage of those people gain the weight back, or end up heavier than they were before.

Lasting change typically takes time. It may have taken years to decades to accumulate the extra pounds or develop a metabolic health condition, and it will not resolve in a matter of weeks or months.

While we won’t get to our final health destination in a matter of weeks, this does not mean we won’t see incredible progress along the way. We will celebrate your many wins and use those successes as motivation. I will encourage you to fix your attention on what is going well in all situations, utilizing a growth mindset.

Commitment

Coaching requires a commitment for both you and I. As your coach, I am committed to showing up to our sessions fully present, ready to listen, ready to give. I will ask questions that provide you with greater insight and direction and I will provide you with any resources or information you need to be successful.

As a client, I expect the same kind of presence in each session, along with a desire to learn and try new things.

Final Word

I believe it is never too late to take control of your health. Right now, you can change the trajectory of your current state of health and make it a thing of the past, something you can look back on and say you overcame.

A Little Personal Info and My Education

I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and a Certified Functional Health Coach. I am originally from Southern California but currently live in Saint Augustine, FL with my wife (Lauren), twin boys (Jude & Logan), and Black Sheprador (Lilah).

My knowledge and beliefs about Health evolved throughout my undergrad as I continued to read articles, and books, listen to countless podcasts and obtain health certifications. In the Spring of 2018, I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Foods and Nutrition, and in February of 2021, I became an ADAPT Certified Functional Health Coach (A-CFHC). In the Spring of 2021, I completed my Dietetic Internship at Cal Poly Pomona.

I am a lifelong learner and extremely passionate about teaching people the power that nutrition, exercise, sleep and stress management can have on one’s well-being. I have experimented with all types of diets myself, and understand how frustrating it can be to navigate the world of nutrition and health.
